Sorry for the delayed update, the last few weeks have been a total whirlwind! Just about a week before we moved out of Myrtle Beach we were able to sign a lease for an apartment in Kittery, Maine. The apartment is only 10-15 minutes from the hospital Dan will be working at. Our driving days to get back up North were very long, but all in all went really well. We arrived in New Hampshire safely last Friday night! We took a longer route to avoid all the big cities on the East coast, but we’re confident we probably saved time by avoiding all that traffic, and the views were great 🙂
As of this Monday we were able to get in to our new apartment and since then we’ve been working on cleaning, unpacking, etc. Unfortunately this apartment has turned out to be a bit of downgrade from our place in Myrtle Beach, but we’re grateful to be saving more money and we do love the area.
We’ve already gotten to spend time with almost all of our immediate family and are excited to be close again for a bit. We were actually able to join Dan’s mom’s side of the family for a birthday party for his aunt Denise the night after we got to NH which was a lot of fun. This weekend we’re going to get to spend some more time with family and celebrate Beannie’s 70th birthday (my grandma on my mom’s side)! It’s a bit belated unfortunately, but we’re so excited to finally celebrate with her and explore our new area together. If you can believe it, we’re actually living even closer to the ocean this time around!
Right before we left Myrtle Beach, we made a quick trip down to Savannah, Georgia for a couple of days which was an amazing time. We absolutely loved the city and were thankful to have a last little getaway just the two of us to adventure and have some quality time before the move.
OUR SAVANNAH FAVOURITES:
The Paris Market – beautiful multi-level shop with a great café that serves tasty macarons & incredible coffee
Huey’s – super tasty Louisiana style food with wonderful beignets
Chocolat – incredible & very unique chocolate shop
Forsyth Park – beautiful park to walk though, we stayed just a few blocks away
Rocks on the River – rooftop bar with amazing views and great cocktails
The Collins Quarter – delicious brunch place
WHAT WE’VE BEEN TRYING:
The last year or so we’ve been trying to find good rewards/cash-back programs to be a part of and have really loved this one:
Rakuten – our favourite option for online shopping that gives us cash back for purchases from nearly every company we shop from. In the past year I’ve gotten over $100 in cashback sent to me by check. It’s such an easy way to save $!
