As our life goes through this major transition of stopping travel nursing and becoming parents, the blog is changing too! While we’ll still talk about travel nursing here and there, the focus will inevitably shift to other aspects of our lives that are at the forefront during this next season. It’s been fun and helpful to us to use this medium as a way to share what travel nursing looks like with friends, family, and newcomers who find the blog. There’s been so much for us to learn and we hope that sharing what we’ve learned has been helpful for others too.
That goal of sharing our lives with others, what we’re learning and what we’re loving, remains as the topics of the blog shift.
We hope to continue to travel and Dan will be continuing to work as a nurse, so those two topics will still be a part of what we talk about here. In addition, I’d love to talk more about different recipes we’re loving and maybe a bit about our transition to a family of three. If there’s anything specific you’d like for us to talk about, we’d love to hear from you!
One thing we hope to explore more on the blog is the different types of nursing and the many career options open to nurses. Dan is excited to be starting on a PCU (progressive care) floor once we move back to New Hampshire, and from there has many ideas of different areas he may be interested in working in. At this point, he’s seriously considering going back to school to advance his career as well; we’d love to bring you along for the ride of what that looks like!
On the home front, we’ll be settling down in Concord, New Hampshire and finally getting the chance to set up a long term (or at least longer term) home for the first time in our marriage. So far, the longest we’ve lived in one place since getting married has been just about six months. We’re both very excited to beat that record. As we settle into our new home and our new roles as mom and dad, I’m sure we’ll have many fun things to share. I’m excited to be starting a new job very shortly as well which I’m so excited about (more to come on that later).
There are so many great things in the works that we hope to share here on the blog, but we also aim to keep somewhat of a focus on nursing and travel. Those are two topics that have been central to our relationship since we began dating and we hope to continue emphasizing them in our life going forward.
We hope so! It would look much different than it has this past year, but we have some ideas of how we may want to do travel nursing again in the future. If we do then I’m sure we’ll bring back the topic of travel nursing and explore how it looks different for us at that stage in life.
